Frequently asked questions

Q: Can I take this course if I’ve never written a song?
A: Yes! Though it is recommended that you have some minor previous musical experience. You should be able to pluck out a few chords and maybe sing a cover from end to end. Alternatively, if you are more on the production side of things, you should have some basic chord and melody knowledge.

Q: How old should I be to take a Songcrafting 101 course? Is there a limit?
A: The course is designed to be accessible to people as young as 15 and as old as time. If you are under 15 and would like to take the course please schedule a free phone consultation before signing up.

Q: Can I take the class remotely?
A: Yes! Currently we are doing exclusively online lessons. We offer a class that is scheduled for 6pm - 8pm PST for west coast-ish students and a class that is scheduled for 2:30 - 4:30 PST (5:30 - 7:30 EST) for all east coast-ish students.

Q: Can I take the class in person?
A: Currently we are only offering online Songcrafting courses, but if you are interested in in-person songwriting lessons you can sign up for weekly or Bi-Weekly private instruction in Monterey, California.

Q: I don’t play an instrument. Can I still take this class?
A: Yes! Students can work with tracks or compose using digital production methods.
